Animal Shelters
Good Mews offers an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro-Atlanta area by providing a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until placing them in permanent, loving homes. Good Mews promotes public awareness regarding the value of pets, animal welfare, pet overpopulation, and quality human-animal companionship through education and outreach programs.
Furkids operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats, and a no-kill division for dogs. At these locations, animals experience the best care in a loving, safe environment until they are adopted into forever homes. The Furkids mission is to help end pet overpopulation in Georgia through sterilization, high-quality adoption and by providing valuable spay/neuter services and pet care education to people in the community.
Inspire Rescue is a non-profit organization with 3 basic missions: Rescue local homeless and abandoned dogs and cats. Provide fantastic pets to deserving families. Educate our community on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter and positive training techniques to ultimately reduce the number of animals killed in local shelters.
Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption (APRA) is a non-profit, no-kill shelter dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs and cats so they can be adopted into safe and loving forever homes. We provide the medical care and enrichment/training to make our animals adoptable pets. Our goal is to match them with owners who will properly care for them for the remainder of their lives.
The Humane Society of Cobb County (HSCC) is a no-kill shelter whose mission is to promote humane welfare and responsible animal guardianship through educational community outreach, shelter, and spay/neuter programs. Services and programs include pet crisis counseling, guidance for pet owners in need, home-to-home placement, pet-assisted therapy, community education, pet sterilization programs, as well as lost and found, rescue, and adoption services.
